Mission Statement

The National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to public policy research on trade, immigration, education, and other issues of national importance. The organization seeks to expand the debate over the proper role of government on key issues of the day and to engage actively in the media and with the public to ensure its ideas are considered and implemented wherever possible.

The National Foundation for American Policy, like the American throughout history, strives to be practical but hold to principle. It promotes citizenship and greater understanding of the principles upon which the nation was founded, including the belief in certain unalienable rights, among these life, liberty, and property. Speaking of what makes America unique, Ronald Reagan once said, “You can go to France to live but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Japan but you cannot become a German or a Japanese. But the one place in the world where anyone from any corner of the world can come (is) America. Come to live and become an American.”

America’s historic commitment to a market economy makes it unique. While adherence to the power of the market has been tested and is still questioned by many, the role of entrepreneurs and individual investors remains central to prosperity. As, too, is the flow and movement of goods and people.

The National Foundation for American Policy will pursue and promote debate consistent with an American entrepreneurial spirit that is welcoming to new people, ideas, and innovation.
